WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT FOR FAVORITE PERMIAN BASIN CHARITY CONTEST!

VOTE FOR HELPING HANDS OF MIDLAND
City Bank recently announced that they are giving away $60,000 to local charities via their Community Rewards program. Helping Hands of Midland has registered for this program. The distribution of these funds will be based on public participation (“voting” for your favorite charities). Voting begins on Sunday, November 8 and ends at 11:59 pm, Sunday December 13. You can go on line at www.city.bank/communityrewards for more information on this program and to vote. Once on the site click Permian Basin charities and click to vote for us among the listed charities. You can vote multiple times. Helping Hands of Midland will very much appreciate your support to help us continue to carry out our mission. THANK YOU!

We are receiving more and more calls on our helpline each day. Layoffs continue, more and more hours are being cut from existing jobs and assistance from other agencies seems to be declining. At least what we are hearing is that many of those people calling our helpline have been told by other agencies and many apartment managers to call Helping Hands. That is putting a huge burden on us. We are limited not only by the number of volunteers we have but what we can afford to do financially. We feel bad for not being able to help everyone we’d like to and it can at times be discouraging that, as we listen to the 80+ calls we receive each day, we will only be able to help between 5 and 7 of them. Please know that if you call Helping Hands and do not receive a call back from us, it is not that we don’t want to help you, it is that there are just that many more people ahead of you. Please call us again if you don’t hear back from us in a day or two, and please call 2-1-1 to get a list of other agencies in town that may help. Join us in praying that this pandemic comes to an end, our economy gets back up and rolling and everyone gets back to work very soon.
