We are so blessed at Helping Hands in that we have been richly fed by so very many wonderful people that has allowed us to help 1,455 Midland families with over $1,787,000 in assistance this past year. While we cannot in this short space acknowledge every single donor who contributed to our cause we would at least like to thank the major charitable foundations who made it possible:
The Abell-Hanger Foundation
James A. “Buddy” Davidson Charitable Foundation
Yarborough Foundation
Excellence in Giving
National Christian Foundation
Moriah Foundation
Permian Basin Gives
St. Stephen’s Catholic Church
St. Ann’s Catholic Church
Holy Cross Lutheran Church
San Miguel Church
Aside from these organizations, well over 313 individual donors sent us checks or made online donations this past year (many of them monthly). Two families each came forward with $100,000 matching grant offers…and the each did it TWICE! And it needs to be mentioned that each one of the churches listed above were donations sent to us that were the result of collections taken up by many, many church members.
It is so true that when we all work together we can accomplish some pretty amazing things! Midland is such a special place, especially when it comes to care and concern for out neighbors in need. You are all AWESOME! God bless!
DONATIONS are still being accepted at our location at 1301 Brinson Lane, Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Remember, when you bring your donation we will have people who will unload it for you and we can give you a receipt for taxes at the same time. Again, we apologize that we had to pull our trucks from St. Stephen’s, but with the amount of theft and vandalism we were experiencing, it was doubtful that many of your donations every made it here.
